> The Magdalen Feria ( Les Fêtes de la Madeleine)

Organized in mid-July to honor the patron saint of the city, this is the first feria in the South West, right after Pamplona (Spain).
Tens of thousands of people, young and old, called "Festayres", come from all over to share in the merriment to the sound of "bandas", local brass bands, who stroll the streets night and day playing traditional feria music...
During the feria, the Plumaçon bullring vibrates with corridas, novilladas, and "courses landaises" (bull dodging and leaping). In the streets, a grand parade of floats, decorated by associations and neighborhood groups is always popular. And the fireworks display never fails to illuminate the town and the eyes!

> The Arte Flamenco Festival

A living art!

This Flamenco art festival, born in 1988, is organized by the Conseil Général (Executive body) of the Landes and the city of Mont de Marsan. Several venues are dedicated to the occasion (François Mitterrand Arena, Hall of Nahuques...) and bodegas are installed on the main plazas. The program features famous artists as well as young talent.

The festival has established itself as a major event, both known to a wide audience beyond the Landes and the Aquitaine region, and recognized in the "mundillo" (little world) of flamenco. Dedicated to flamenca culture, in its authenticity and traditions, but remembering that it is a living and thus evolving culture, the festival invites the best artists of the time, as well as some legendary "figuras".

The Mont-de-Marsan International Arte Flamenco Festival  also looks to mix the expressions to extract the essence thereof, and make appear the unspeakable in the movement and the music. Without ever straying from its roots, from this Andalusian earth whence arise the song, the dance and the trance.

The festival also relies on the excellence of the invited artists to communicate its fascination for Duende to 250 trainees of all countries who come to perfect their art of the baile, the compás, the palmas and the guitar.
